Alan has more than 36 years of experience in accounting and auditing for various industries. He now focuses on consulting with agribusiness clients on numerous tax and audit related issues. In addition to his extensive industry experience from a life-long accounting career in the U.S., Alan has also consulted with government officials in Nepal and farmers in Russia, Bosnia and Ethiopia to form organizations to further agriculture in those countries.

Alan is a native of Alleman, IA, and was a founding principal of Laird & Heiple, LLP Alan joined Bergan Paulsen in 1999 during the merger of the two firms. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Iowa Society of CPAs and the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives.
