Mike's practice focuses on accounting and auditing for agribusinesses— primarily grain and farm supply cooperatives and elevators. Mike also provides business consulting and tax services to individuals, partnerships, corporations and cooperatives with a focus on the agricultural sector.

Mike grew up on a dairy farm near Waukon, Iowa. He graduated with highest honors from the University of Northern Iowa in 1992 with a B.A. in accounting. Mike received the Elijah Watts Sells Award and Performance with High Distinction on the May 1992 CPA Exam. He joined the firm in 1992 and became a principal in 2006. He is treasurer of the Cedar Valley Running Association in Cedar Rapids, and Race Director for the Alliant Energy Fifth Season 8K/5K Race on July 4th in downtown Cedar Rapids. Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Iowa Society of CPAs, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives.
